- We will make every effort to ensure the cooking workshops are as safe as possible.
- Children will be exposed to different types of food and equipment under supervision.
- Please be aware that baking and cooking may on occasion involve the use of items that may cause injury such as kitchen utensils and equipment including but not limited to knives, graters, peelers, hobs, ovens, food processors.
- If you have any concerns, please talk to us before booking.
Payments
- Payments are non-refundable unless under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of The Baking and Cookery Coach.
- Any workshops missed due to holidays or ill health are non-refundable. If your child cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible. You may allocate your space to a 'friend' but we must be told in advance.
- In the event of us having to cancel a class, a refund will be issued.
Health & Safety
- Allergens: We handle all allergens in our kitchen/home and cannot guarantee any workshops to be allergen free. Please discuss any allergen concerns at the time of booking. If your child has any other dietary requirements, please also discuss beforehand.
- Please remove any jewellery attendees are wearing and tie long hair back. Wear short sleeves if possible and sensible shoes (that cover toes).
- Attendees must adhere to handwashing request and any other hygiene procedures as advised.
- Children will be issued with age-appropriate utensils and will be given instructions on how to use them.
- We take all practical steps to keep staff and children safe from harm or injury.
- We will record any accidents, together with any treatment given, on an Incident Record or Accident Record sheet as appropriate.
- We have safety procedures in place to minimise the risks of any potential hazard but cannot be held responsible for any injury or damage that might occur during a workshop.
- You must not bring any items of special value to our courses. We will not accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.
- We will not be liable for any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential.
- We will not be liable for any loss suffered by you resulting from any event which is beyond our reasonable control.
Sickness
- Please do not bring your child to a workshop if they have vomited or had diarrhoea in the previous 48 hours. Please do not bring them if they have a fever or symptoms of Covid-19.
- We reserve the right to refuse admittance to the workshop if we believe that the child is too unwell to participate or poses a risk to the health of the other children.
Drop Off Sessions
- By booking a session with us you are giving permission for staff to administer emergency first aid to your child if necessary (full records will be kept).
- Please ensure emergency contact information is up to date as well as medical and allergy information.
- Please arrive promptly to collect your child. We will contact the emergency contacts of any children not collected after 15 minutes from the end of the session.
- Lateness in collecting a child will result in a fee of ₤10 if the parent is over 15 mins late. An additional £10 fee will be added every subsequent 15 minutes.
- Children must be collected by an adult who has been authorised to do so on their registration form.
- In exceptional circumstances, if the parent requires another person who is not listed on the registration form to collect their child, the child’s parents or carers must inform us in advance.
- If we have any concerns regarding the person collecting, the main parent or carer will be contacted for confirmation.
Adult Accompanied Sessions
- During the workshop the accompanying adult is responsible for any child in their care.
- The accompanying adult is responsible for ensuring the food used is suitable for the child.
- We reserve the right not to allow an attendee to return to class if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
- You may take photographs of your own child during workshops, but you must not take photos of other children.
Behaviour
- Children are expected to be courteous and kind to each other and to show respect to the supporting staff.
- Bullying of any form is not tolerated in our club, whether carried out by a child or an adult.
- Poor behaviour will be dealt with appropriately and parents will be informed.
- We reserve the right not to allow an attendee to return to class if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
- Should your child cause disruption, or should we feel they pose a safety hazard to themselves or others, we will ask you to collect them early and a refund will not be issued.
Photography
- We may take photos and videos in workshops for our social media pages, marketing materials and other advertising.
- Parents/guardians that do not wish for their child to be photographed/filmed must make The Baking and Cookery Coach aware of this at the time of booking or in writing before the workshop starts.
Safeguarding
- The lead adult in the workshop holds an enhanced DBS check. Support staff hold a DBS check.
- All staff are trained in our safeguarding policy and procedures.
Data Protection
- The information provided at booking will only be used for our internal records according to our privacy policy.
These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between you and The Baking & Cookery Coach.
By booking a workshop with The Baking & Cookery Coach you are acknowledging your full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
